I'm "considering" a big bore kit for my 250R. I don't really drag race, not much of a hill shooter although I'll climb em if they're there. I just love ripping the desert and dunes. I'm not interested in lengthening my swingarm so I'm thinking an esr 310 kit maybe. Any word on the reliability of these babies? Any advice is much appreciated. I don't want to rebuild my bottom end yet either. Thanks guys.

I've also looked at the ct set up but the ESR match ported set up is more affordable.

i recommend the esr310, it comes with more "extras" then the ct, i know Allen @ ct but i truly like the esr better, the eco match for mid to top is great package, plus a billet head.

Cool. That's what I was thinking. Not sure if I'll do it but I bet it would be fun. I'm wanting to do a bit better in soft sand with knobbies on.

see thats where i begin to differ with people lol, why do you want to ride in the sand with knobbies? cause putting a 310 ontop of ur motor will not help anything, instead your going to be trying to get 50rwhp to the ground (EASY number to get with a 310) through knobbies.... you will end up doing harm to your motor.... the constant high rpm spin is what kills rod bearings. just something to think about, YES knobbies are fun to slide, but seriously just set the bike to what its supposed to be like in the sand...

Because 99.99 percent of my riding is at rasor road where paddles won't work. There are big sand hills there but hardpack and rocks on the way to them. I have paddles for real dunes such as dumont and glamis.

I may just port the cylinder but I was just looking for some input on the big bores.
You might find some helpful info here!!

ESR310. Got one. Love it. Hell of a hill shooter. Rideable without a stretched swinger. Seems pretty reliable although if you recall my 20+ year old stock crank failed at Rasor, but I relate that to being a 20 + year old crank that was ready to fail and you said you heard me coming from behind in the sandwash like an F-16 or something like that.
