Hey guys. How hard would it be to replace a broken kickstarter on an 86 Tecate? I have my eye on one but the guy says the kickstarter broke off the other day. I've never done this before. Thanks everyone.

From what I gather from the guy, it broke off inside the motor. Don't know if this helps. The bike isn't anywhere I can look at it.

probably just an easy clutch side case removal.

It is easy to replace the kick shaft by taking off the clutch cover; it is more common that the knuckle on the kicker breaks.

I looked at it last night. The shaft is OK, it was just the kicker that was broken. The trike was not worth $2K, though.

The guy thinks it's made of silver and gold. I'll hold out for something else.
