Problems w/ 83 185/200x

Well i knocked a link outghta the chain cuz it loosened up. Then it was all down hill after that. I have swing arm adjusters on it so i can move i up and back. Well ihad to move it up quite a bit to get thechain to a resonabe tighteness. But one side of the doesnt go up good. (side without chain) I beat it with a lead hammer and tried to get it to moveup and it wont i WANNA GO RIDING!!!! and because the @$$ end is uneven now like kicked out the GOD D@MN CHAIN HITS THE FRAME!!! I need help!!!

Is the stuck side the one with the nut on the pivot bolt? if it is take the nut off and see why it will not move. If the other side is stuck, loosten the pivot bolt nut, put a piece of 2x4 on the nut and hit is with a sledge hammer. that should push the bolt a little bit to the other side, and it should move. Then tighten eveything back up

Nah i didnt have to do that i put a come along on the axle and the peg and that did it its all better now (so far)
