View Full Version : 12V headlight buld for a 200X?

Can someone point me in the right direction for a 12V headlight bulb to fit in a 200X headlight, and the 200X harness? Thanks in advance! :thumbsup:

I may have a bulb if I decide to jusnk this 200x i have here LOL .. seriously I may do a top end job ... I tried to message you kiethluneau you didnt repliy .. just wnated to hear about the details on that replacement engine you tossed into your 200x ? like how she runs how you hooked up elecrtical and what if any problems you ran into .. let me know as I am considering buying the same engine off ebay for my 200x instead of getting top end rebuilt ...

Sorry, didn't know you tried to message me! Like Rex Karz said, I posted alot of info while I was putting the 200 together. The biggest problems I remember was getting a front sprocket (CRF230 is what I ended up with) and the wiring. I ended up making my own harness working from a diagram from Hooper Imports if I remember right. The diagram may have been from somewhere else. The cross brace under the engine needs work too, I just flattened mine out and left it where it was. Others have cut it out and relocated it too. The battery is a problem too, mine is in my air cleaner box, with a clamp-on Uni filter directly on the back of the carb with an Outerwears pre-filter over that. It works for me, but would be bad in the mud! Look for threads I've started, shouldn't be too far down the list.

Back to the headlight! lol The main reason I need a bulb is mine is burnt out, but the reason I need one other that stock, is that the 200X housing is actually on a 250SX, and I don't want to put too much load on the lighting coil. If I remember right, the 200X had a higher voltage and/or wattage bulb in it. Any ideas as to what would work in my case?

Ok, now I feel like a jackass... :D

Looking at the wiring diagrams for the 200X and a 250SX, they're both 12V/60W bulbs. What confused me was when I did the auto-x and ran into problem with the 200X headlight and the 200S lighting coil. Oh well, now I just need a stock X headlight bulb or one like it, and I'm back in night-riding business... ;)
