Hey, as some of you know i have a couple of 86 ATC250Rs and i was wondering if any of you could help me. On my factory Red tanks they are all turning white, I was curious if any of you know of any tricks to removing the whitness. Also any tips for keeping it from starting (have a factory Black Tank i want to make sure stays Black)
Thanks for any help Guys

Wet sand then polish will make them look like new.
It's caused by being left out in the sun. Do you store your trikes outdoors?

all my bikes are stored indoors unless i am at the coast.
Any suggestions on a good polish?
I saw some stuff at Cycle Gear, I think it was called plastic renew??
I know what your talking about on the tank. Mine is the same way.
This is a little different but here's before and after pictures of the front fender I got from Dammit!! Thanks Dammit.
I spent about a hour and a half on it. 100 grit, then 220, then steel wool, and a little turtle wax.

Check out Billy's thread over on 3ww.(cannot remember the thread title tho) he used mother's aluminum polish and it did wonders on that plastic tank of his.
Wd-40 or armour all will help protct them from the sun.

Hey, I was just looking where it came from. And saw that I lived about two miles from you. (about 10 years ago) N 28th Drive between Peoria and Cactus. Portofino at the Lake apartments. I was there going to MMI.

I just did the tank Friday on the LT80 I bought. Wet sanded with 320 then 600 then 800 then 1000. Then I rubbed out with polishing compound. Looks like new. I used that PC Plastic Renew on my 200e fenders. It brought the color back but they're not as smooth, and kinda streaky. Maybe its user error but I redid it a couple of times as directed. I like the sand and polish finish much better.
