Ok, I have a 185s witht the ballon tires (of course). I need to get new rubber for the thing and was debating about going with some 20x11x8 instead of the stock 22x11x8. I wanted to gain some bottom end on the trike, also plan to change sprockets, but that's later.

Question 1 is... By not running the ballon tires on the back, how much "suspension" am I gonna lose (since all suspension is in the tires ad your body)?

Question 2 is... If I don't run the ballon tires in back, do I need to replace the front tire too, or can I still use the ballon in front?

Thanks,

Putting smaller (stiffer) tires on the back of a unsuspended trike will make the ride very harsh. The stock balloon tires are designed to bounce and have some give. The stock tires with a smaller countersprocket will give you more low end pull, and still have some bounce. If you put smaller tires on the back and leave the front stock, you will feel like you are riding up hill all the time

That's about what I figured... Oh well, I'll just get another set of balloons for it.

ATCnut, where in Auburn do you live? I work up there and live in Shelton (I know, it's a hell of a commute!)>
