I'm doing some searching, and finding too many different variations of choices for clutch plates. Has anyone used these "fancy-pants" versions of kevlar or carbon fiber and have some feedback to share? Is there much difference between OEM and aftermarket?
I've heard that if I get a really tough set of springs, I'll notice a bid difference with the lever pull effort.
Share the wealth of information!
Have to watch some plate. They use a diff. oil and some older engines will not run that oil. Yes stiffer springs will make the clutch clap better but makes the lever stiffer.

OEM works the best, its also less abrassive on the steels, alot of the barnett stuff and knock offs will groove steels because of the compound, they just made the clutch a TOUGHER component, so it wont fade so quickly, but it will have adverse effects on other parts (baskets, steels)

On my 350x and banshee they have oem. There both built engines so that might tell you something.
There cheap and easy to change so go with whatever is cheap.

yeah...i think i have stiffer springs on my clutch, the lever wears your hand out in about 15 shifts........and i have strong hands.
and i bought an EZ-pull lever, still a BEAR to pull.
