View Full Version : 1982 250R no spark question

ok I think this is a 250R I just bought .. no spark .. I downloaded a manual so will trouble shoot ,, but my question is about the CDI ,, I have a similar CDI off a small honda clone bike 50CC is it the same as this one for a 250R ? looks the same havnt check #s yet .. ,,, b4 i start to check what is the most common problem with these things ?

got it to spark .. cleaned ground at coil .. look at the pic wrong coil ? but now spark is gone again .. cant see a reason .. it comes ( strong) then gone ..

didi a elec test .. looks like I may need a stator if anyone has one .. complete electrical set up may be the best idea LOL

did you make sure your kill switch isnt screwing up?

replaced the stator cdi and relay and harness .. yea she has spark now :) .. poured some gas down the hole .. but no brap .. Ill try again tommorow .. maybe flooded it too much gas ?

The most common problem is neglect or failure to maintain. :doh: Is that blue masking tape I see on the wire harness?

hey .. old thread .. but all I did was take a chance .. bought a complete stator and it also came with a flywheel removed teh old one and repalced with teh ebay used ones .. and she started right up :) ..
just coming back to thsi site today ...
leaving soon to pick up a few yamahas
