which way do these seals go? ///pics///

these are new seals for my 350x forks. i dont know which side should be facing upwards...........one side has a thicker outer lip and the other is skinnier....which should face up?????

here are a couple pics, should the one on the right or left face up?

The side with the numbers/letters/writing should face up.
