How often does everyone change there oil?

I usually change mine about every 30 hrs riding or when i notice it starts to get black on the dipstick. Whats everyone elses oil change method? I also change the filter with each oil change.

I change mine about once a month cuz I ride my trike almost every day:headbang: Think I'm over doing it? Nah!

I once heard that you should change oil every five tanks of gas. so i try to go by that. let me ask this. how often should you change oil in a bike that sits for up to six months at a time? i have a 200s that i don't ever ride. when should i change oil in that?? :confused:

in that case you should change it before your next ride. oil can go bad just sitting w/o being run b/c it absorbs condensation. I try and change mine every 3 months or ever 5 rides. if I hit any deep water I change it afterwards.

I change the filter every time too unless I'm only changing it b/c it's been sitting. filters are cheap.

depends on the machine, on my tecate it got changed every 15-18 hours,but i was also putting a new piston in it every 70 hours, now on my 400ex it gets changed every 45-50 hours, so about once or twice a month, whereas the tecate was once or twice in 2 weeks,
