Kasey, Help. I got a 70 and I want to do it up

I was given an 1981 70 and it will need a complete makeover. I also was given a 1982 motor and frame as spares. Knowing me the way you guys do, I want something different. I really dig what you did Kasey and I was wondering a few things.

What frame did you use for your moded mini?
What forks did you use for the front end?

I don't know what direction I'm going to go with mine but I would like to do a full suspension (maybe)

Where is the writeup on your's? I remember seeing it but I can't find it now

Anything you can tell me would be greatly appreciated.

Just wanted to introduce myself. I just got my 83 last week. Im addicted. I was wondering the same things about Kasey's! I was thinking of just forks like the big reds. Just some type of suspension. Im sure Il have many more questions for you guys. Thanks Justin

WELL THE DIRECTION I WENT WAS THE LONG WAY,,, you need above average fab skills ,, i started with a motorcycle frame,,, there was hours of cleanup on the frame,, lotsa unused brackets and stuff,,, i built the swingarm from scratch,,, just about everything was custom built,,, there are a few stock 70 parts ,, seat,tank, throttle, rear axle, rear sprocket and hub, and thats about all,as you can see i cut the back of the original frame off and integrated the six pack rack into the frame too,,,, i guess i could list other parts and their origin,,,

front wheel and hub,,, lt500 suzuki ,,,axle custom made for the forks
front forks early xr 80
frame,, early like 1970 xl 70 honda
rear shock is a 200x with a shortened 250r spring
motor new lifan 125cc,,
custom built exhaust header and a mid 80's kx 250 silencer
rear master cylinder , 80's cr80 rear
rear disc and hub is 250r honda
rear hubs are stock 200x that were relieved of some material,
headlight is a yamaha street bike driving light
rear caliper,, mid 80's cr 80 front
its quite a chore mating all these parts together there was alot of trial and error went into it too,,,

Kasey, I have a few questions about that front rim and hub....how wide is the hub, and what are the dimensions of the rim? Im trying to find a smaller rim/tire setup to go between a set of 200x forks for my cr80 conversion. Thanks :cool:
