thinking of gettin some new tires for the Rasor run and was wondering if anyone has tried these? they look like a good mix between a dirt and a paddle tire.... I dont know how light they are but I think they would fare well in sandy/ rocky condidtions like the Rasor OHV area.

I was looking at those too. I bet they'd be nice. I am leaning toward the parker dt from Kenda since it's a 6 ply and a big rock slashed the new tires on my 350x out there last time. Give em a shot and we can have a tire comparison out there.

i am running holeshots. i like them in the sandy areas here, where you have dirt and rock and sand. but those look realy good. i might try them if i were looking.

I have Shredders... which are basicly hole shots. and I have trouble getting up alot of the hills at rasor. I just dont have the HP in some areas to keep the tires spinning fast enough to tread that really soft sand. I think these tires will move a little more volume, giving me a better chance of climbing the big ones.

That might be to much tire for your motor then Vegas. My motor has no trouble pulling up devils slide and other dunes. I don't know how Steep the dunes are at razor, but this sand is VERY soft and my motor pulls the hills in 3rd/4th easy.. Don't get me wrong, I'm no expert..i'm just saying... plus those shredders are tough as beans! I have a tear or two in my sidewalls and I can still drift around in the rocks without worry! Very good tires if you ask me.
Dammit!

My bike doesnt run out of steam that fast, its just that my tires are spinning WAY too much and I am not getting any bite.... its like I am riding on ice, the treads move to fast across the sand to dig in to it.... I can climb almost anything with a set of sand sharks on and do it in either 3rd or 4th. I really think my problem is my "dirt" tires , It also doesnt help that I am really not a fan of airing down my tires, if I am not on 8-12lbs. I am just not comfortable with the feel of the bike
Dammit!

We should have an informal tire shootout at the rally. Everybody run a different style tire and we'll head out to a sand hill with a wrench, pick a trike and start swapping tires. :lmao:

I don't know what to tell you then. Maybe they just don't work for you. All tires don't work for everyone I guess!

I air down my holeshots to 2 psi when doing the soft stuff at rasor. There are hills I can climb at 2 psi but above 3 or so I get wheelspin. Tire review would be fun. Let's do it. Jeremy, did you order a set of those?

I will be orderin them, but probably not untill next monday. I still am not too sure what I am going to be doing for rims for them. Thinking of taking my shredders off, but I dont really want to ruin the beads on a good set of tires by dismounting them. I guess I need to find another set of gold stockers

I have a tire changer, i might take it to razr. I will still say, go with Turf tamers, the best all around tire in the world. Got kenda's Gnarley's on my shee, dont like em. Sold my (almostnew) shredders, and want to buy my USED tamers back from Eric. I have Some Maxis Razr's for a shootout. Also tiers need to be near new condition to do a shoot out. Honetsly boys and girls, in sand Stock ltz400 or (04-07) trx450 rears are the best in the sand, but on hardpack sliding they suck. I ran those radials (actualy the I Razr) in 1 race and forward bike was barely ok, but sliding with them was horrable, it was eather straight line or a circle. no decent controled slide with them.

I put the kenda version of those (dirt dogs) on my 350x and i love them!

Dirt dogs and what we are comparing to are completely diffrent. We are looking for a performance geared tire. Those are too tall, too heavy, and not flat enough.

Ok, i realize that, but where we are riding a tire like that would not be well suited. Im glad you like yours. And if i rode in the conditions you ride in i might like them to.
