never seen it, looks like a good idea though. i replaced all of that in my 70 this past weekend. i got my stator used on ebay for about $30.00. With a new stator assembly being close to $100 you could add another $150 get a complete brand new lifan motor. thats what i was gonna do before i found that deal on the used stator assembly.

I have two 70's that I keep around for my nephews to ride. Had to adjust the points on one and its running better but I think after 25 years with the original points they could be on their last legs. Just trying to weigh if I should spend $10 on new points/condenser or swap over to electronic ignition and be done with it. The seller is located in Malasia? Kinda weird

I had one of those setups on the 70 I "lost" to the DMV. I broke the stator plate taking it back out when they took the tirke. It worked good. I bought another one, have not gotten around to installing it yet.

I am interested in doing this conversion on one of my atc 70s. Will something like the item below work on an atc 70?

those will not fit an atc motor they will fit a trx 70 ,,, the crank snout is smaller on a atc motor with points,,,

Some of the guys at Glamis Dunes have installed them and said they work good.

i have a couple of those,,, they only work on cdi motors,,, the motors that have points have a smaller crank end and it won't work,,

So is this the only option? $120 seems really steep.

What was the story there? I couldn't find a thread where you explained the story, but i'm guessing it's somewhere on the forum here. I hate to hear people losing their toys to the local fun-hating-patrol.

When I took it in for an inspection to get a title, the DMV read the VIN differently than I did. They said it was stolen back in 1984, and they took it away.

They did let me remove all the parts I had receipts for, and the old part to reinstall. I got to keep most of the goodies I put on it, except for a set of powder coated wheels with new tires

Here in TN most people never title atc/atvs. Same with trailers. I guess some states are much more strict about it.

there is another option...if you search 3ww forum for a thread by iamschmee he did the conversion. it's a third of the price and works the same.

I'd provide the link myself, by the work comp is way to slow to have both windows open at once...and no copy and paste.
