Well a few weeks ago a shop had this itp front rim on clearance, for $4 its for a old suzuki 250r. I bought it thinkin if anything its a wall decoration. Well got it out tonight and was looking if it could fit on the 3 wheelers. The bolt pattern was close on it to the 3wheeler and way off from the honda 450 and banshee i got, So i drilled out the holes a bit, put a hoosier on it and now my 350x has a hoosier up front. SWEET!!!. Only thing is the rim is a 3-2 offset. So its not quite centered. I dont mind. Pics tomarow hopefuly.

Could You use a spacer to move it over?

you might not mind but the handling of your trike will:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

i guess if your flattracking it might be ok if the offset is to the outside!!!

I did put the offset to the outside, I didnt mind that. Handeling was the same when turning. But cornering makes things HARD. When i get pics ill explain why. Basicaly with the hoosier on the front it makes it want to tip to the ouside more than normal.
I could probably easely get a spacer to center it but this was just for trying things. I will probably try to dial it all in one of these days. Pics comming SOON been busy riding it and forget about pics.

uhhh no i don't. I bent a frame at the steering stem that resulted in the front wheel being offset an 1 1/2" to the same side as NOS and it handled left turns better.
in right turns it will have a tendency to push.

And in Austrailia they flat track with right hand turns. How does a push help you turn?

yep your right i had that part backwords. my bad. i guess i had one too many safty meetings yesterday???

that would probably be the result of you having knobbies on the back and a "smoothie" on the front. you have two wheels that already overpower the front then give them more traction while tacking it away up front.

UMM look at the pics, had hoosiers on the back too. Still handled like crap.
I rode it a bit with those turf tamers and let me say thye arn anywhere clsoe to over powering the front, there half worn down 18" x9.5 they dont even think about hooking up. If you look at the second pic taken you can see why the handleing is so bad, Look at the tire on the dirt, when you turn the wheel right, the inside of the tire becomes the only part touching the gorund, then the front tire wants to roll so the "flat" part is touching the gournd. Thus lifting the inside rear tire up. Only way to stop is like in the pics, get way crossed up.
Also, on the 450 and banshee, i run hoosiers up front everywhere, nobbies on the back, hoosiers or paddles. They dont push, becuase hoosiers KICK ASS!!!

even though the rest of your theroy is wrong this last statement just makes me go why bother!!!
quads have always required different rear tires then 3 wheelers. to even compare the two is so ridiculous its no worth explaining it to you because we'll just go back and forth.
whats worse is you tried something for the first time that i did 6 years before you were born and somehow you are an expert.
also your riding style/form shows me your more intuned with quads then trikes. your not flowing with the trike but forcing it.

This intrists me, You say you did the exact same thing in 1977 So what would that put you on?? a us90?? Im wondering why you think what im saying is wrong? If you tell me something and it makes since ok. I dont know what im saying is 100% correct but its just the conclusion ive came to from riding it.
I dont FLOW or FORCE, i just give it gas and haul ass!! Im so glad you can judge my riding by a few pictures of one turn intended for taking some pics of sliding, Not going fast or anything elce, just it in a wicked slide. If you want ill go take some of just soem normal riding. BUT, your right a bit, The 450 was pushing a bit, ill get a little slide show going into the turn. When i get the sway bar back on it it will clear up that little problem.

were both wrong on our math. according to your bio you were born in 86. so i should have said 1 year before you were born since it was in 85 when i did it. but to take 6 years from 86 and end up with 1977 is not much closer...lol

bad riding habits/syle come out regardless of speed or purpose. your body is intuned to a quad. i'll edit some pics to explain if you don't mind me using your pics for demonstration.
as far as tire differances i'll use the 250R as an example.
the 86 ATC and 86/87 TRX use the exact same rear suspension/swingarm. however it was relized that quads have more weight up front and less weight on the rear then a 3wheeler. because of this the first TRX's did not get good traction. two things on quads were forever changed. shorter swingarms then equivalent 3 wheeler and better gripping tirers. this has remained the same ever since. as a matter of fact i just recently sold my stock 450R tires to the guy i sold all my 350X stuff too even though i told them they would not work worth a ****. i just rode it for the first time 15 minutes ago in the snow even and it handled like crap. it got too much bite and wanted to high side. it felt like a 22" mud tire.

safe to say math isnt eather of our strong subjects LOL.
Honestly i dont mind cretique, I welcome it, anything that can make me a better rider.
The 450R tires, ive ran them many times. They are an EXCLENT straight line tire. BUT they have no side bike. Becomes worse on a 3 wheeler. A decent slide is very dificult on the 450r tires without it comming around on you.
The 450 has the stock swinger my shee has a -2. In a month or so it will be a -2 also. We can adjust how much it hooks up with tire, sway bar, things like that, dont have the front suspension to adjust things like that on a 3 wheeler. Would i ever shorten a 3 wheeler swinger HELL NO. On a quad with the power where getting out of these its HARD to get to hook up, on a 3 wheeler, if you went shorter you would just be replaceing grab bars left and right the front tire would like to see the sky.
Riding purpose makes a big diffrence.
Notice a diffrence??

Can i start editing people you give out BAD UNPROVEN ADVICE!!!
you pics just proved my point you are more tuned to golf carts then three wheelers. and at best your a AM level rider on a quad and a novice on a trike. I don't know what your trying to prove with them. Not one person on the trike is in the proper position.
i'll have some pics for you soon to show what i am talking about. i'm going to meet raffa and others saturday for a ride.

One thing I've noticed as I've ridden with lots of people from the board here is that everyone has different riding styles. Dammitt and Nick are the fastest overall guys I've ridden with and their styles are different but both effective. I don't know about flattrack but I raced desert for many years and can say that Nick hauls the mail. If his style is off it hasn't had much of an impact on his speed. He's a good rider. Everyone can get better though, and one day if they do they might be able to catch old Dove here:oldman:

BS- my pics prove your point,
"You just simply can't turn a trike fast enough without flipping, no matter how far you lean out."...
leaning waay out is not a effective way to turn a trike fast...i'll demonstrate what i mean at haspin...but keep this in mind. when turning a trike i never leave the seat...unless its for show slides which are not the fast way to turn a trike.
