Hopefuly someone here can give some insite on my problem. I have an 83 ATC 110 with low miles, still has original tires and runs great with the exception of idle.

Rev the motor up and at times it comes down to idle a little slow, then idles fine then slowly dies. Turn up the barrel stop screw and it revs like crazy.

The barrel has what appears to be normal wear at the idle screw contact point, I stretched the barrel spring a bit, adjusted the pilot to specs and checked for air leaks at the intake manifold junctions. The carb has been disassembled and cleaned. Has me stumped. Any Ideas?

This wheeler is blue. Anyone know how many blue ones where made? Thanks.

I've had this problem on my Yamaha 225DR. I took apart the carb and cleaned it several times without luck. As I continued to ride it the problem got better and better until it disappeared. I can't explain why (not very convincing I know) but using it helped a lot. If your ATC has been sitting (like mine had) then probably just riding it will help. My brother 200S (which had also been sitting) had idle problems at first too. I've also heard people say that a worn slide barrel can cause this condition because vaccuum leaking by the slide can cause the slide to get sucked open and won't allow the slide close and return the needle to the seat. I would try lubricating the slide with some penetrating oil (PB blaster or WD40 and running it around for a week or two). It sounds like junky old carburetor syndrome to me. Good luck with it.
