my 250r has a twist throttle, im switching back to thumb. i bought a new cable and thumb throttle assebly and the cable that i bought screws into the top of the carb(the cap). the setup i have now does not, it just slips in but when i bought the three wheeler the guy gave me a carb that the cable screws into, ive checked and it works with the cable that i bought. im figuring that the carb thats on there now is the one that came off of the dirt bike that the twist throttle came from and spare one that i have is right. does anyone know?

I read this a couple of times to try and understand your question. To be honest, I am not quite sure what your asking us if we know.
The screw on cap for the top of the Carb is normal. Again, I have no clue if there is another question in what your wrote.
Maybe you want to know how to disconnect the cable from the carb???

Okay, please re-ask your question in full. Also, what kind of carb are they?

If you guys have came accrost this problem before then you would understand completely.
The Cap of the carb is built into the cable and the nub part on teh bottom. So the cable wont come out.
Ive cut the caps appart to use the cable on another carb but never needed to reuse the cap. My gess would be you have to locate a cap on ebay that dosent have teh cable built into it. Try Sudco.com they are the carb experts call them and see what they say.

if you're asking if you can use the spare cap that came from the guy you bought the wheeler from that is a spare and has a screw top then yes, you can...as long as it fits like you say it does...:lala:
probably just keep the twist throttle and cable and top(that doesn't have a screw top) all together and sell it on ebay if its still a decent setup.
