The sprocket placement should be the same as the older engines. The atc frame needs some serious mods to make the chain alignment correct.

ACTUALLY it needs no mods to make proper alinment,,, the mods are to get the motor in,, but there are no issues with chain alinement ,,,,,,,,,

set the egnine all the way to the left and it should be fine.

I always thought chain aligns perfectly. Its just that the sprockets don't line up :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Its not bad, aren't those kits really hard to come by?
I remember seeing one in Quad magazine a couple of years ago that a guy built and tried and tried to find the parts to the kit. He just ended up making it if i remember

I was thinking the same thing. Needs to drop the price about 1 g for someone to bite I think.

OK!!!!!!! to make your sprocket line up with the chain slider so your chain does'nt chew through Into your swingarm, you will need major mods to the frame. Saying the frame needs to be modded for the chain alignment doea'nt just mean side to side. The bottom tubes on the atc frame are up to high. If you are Interested In getting a frame done to fit the 500, give me a call. 1-517-206-7635. I see you live In Detroit, I'm not far away from you, I work In Jackson. Here are 3 picture's of the 500 that I built for a friend In Ohio.

anyone done it with a 89 or newer motor? I think it was 89 when the cr500 went to a larger swing arm bolt. I think the atc swingarm bolt is the same size as the older cr500. I have a 90 cr500 motor i am swaping into my atc250r and the swing arm bolt is too small for the bushings in the case. the bushings can not be ordered from honda. If i make a sleve for the bolt I don't know if it will last because it will be real thin. I have not measured them yet but i think is it 2mm between the 2 swingarm bolts.
