Yes in good shape, fenders not busted up. Thats the only difference,. Why want to sell a blue one? Are both 83's? Is there a difference in the Vin? Was curious if there is a different # that staes its a true blue one or you could build a blue one from a red one.

Usually yes the blue ones are worth more as they are the "christmas edition." But they have to be in nice OEM shape for the collectors to pay top $$$.

The blue ones are really only worth more when the plastic is in good shape, it is blue OEM plastic that is hard to find.

I'm jealous.............I want one 70, and you've got two!
People that treat their 70"s like that should be thrown in jail! :fire:
Glad you rescued them,
Make sure you straighten the steering stop, as it looks like those are bent and allowing the forks to dent the tanks.
Good tab
Bad Tab
Also looks like they both have slightly bent frames which is why you see the head bolts rubbing on the fenders.
No biggy really, I'd say 70-80% of the 70's I see have slightly bent frames
I usually just cut the fender above that point.
Nice find,
getting those heads clean can be a challenge , I sometimes use a dremel with a small wire brush attachment( time consuming) , wish I could find a cleaner that would get that stuff off. Heck, I can put an 88 kit on faster than cleaning that stuff! I guess bead blasting the stock stuff is an option as well...
Anyway, good luck with your projects, with some kind words and tlc those bikes will be back to putting smiles on young kids and big kids faces once more :D
Hmmm I seem to have lost my ability to edit posts...
I was going to add some pictures of a good and bad tab
They are as pictured below
A nice smack with a 1# hammer works nicely to straighten those puppies up!

I used Eagle One self etching wheel cleaner on the wifes 300ex motor and it worked well. Returned the Aluminuim color with a little scrubbing. You can find it at Autozone. Give it a try and let me know how it worked.

NOS blue atc70 parts, the holy grail. I've seen way more short track tank kits and tiger trikes than blue atc70 parts.
