So the kicker hangs down then its the BIGGER spring,,,
If it slips its the smaller spring.. Gimme a few Ill find schemes on it..

Those are probable causes by the way,,, and assuming you have an 85 or earlier year 200x.. If not ignore my silliness..
you can see the big spring its coiled all up.. the smaller spring is actually titled ratched spring Sadly both springs require the split I think..

thanks for the quick reply. but by split do you mean splitting the case? it is the bigger one.

i seen a bulliten where someone had seen a random "x" mark some where on the frame near the tag that the serial number is on. maybe this is the reason?
just a thought...

The "x" marks if the small spring has been replaced with the updated stiffer one to keep the kicker from slipping. It should be stamped near the serial # on the engine case from what I heard.
The big return spring does require a complete disassembly of the engine, splitting the center transmission case.

oh never mind then, on the bulliten that they were talking about the "x" it was on the frame

Both the springs are located inside the main cases. I have mine apart now to do the small spring, it is in the bottom under the transmission

If you have 2 other engines, ARE they good runners? Other gaskets which cost, you could take the pieces from those engines and make one good runner.. That way for say $140 fixing your 350X and Say around $40ish for gaskets you have 2 running TRIKES and possibly a lil more for the spring/s..
I would not buy the last engine, I would simply buy the springs you need and replace em...Way cheaper. Plus what you dont use you can sell off... make some of cash back..
Splitting a 200x is not that difficult... Just do your research, get all the manuals, and I really actually use schemes, they are a tad more thorough for picts and piece placement, maybe get a helping hand...
Just a suggestion..

i was considering doing that but the other engine looks really really good. the top ends on the other two are out thats why i need a new motor.
my brother told me he tried to work on a bottom end and couldnt get it back together, hell, he couldnt even get it all the way apart. and im nothing compared to him with the machnics.
