Fork sliders

Ok... like an idiot I cross threaded my fork slider. So i have to swap a tube with another I have laying around. I have the manual now thanks to a tip to one of my other posts.... :-) You guys rock....

Can I swap sliders just by removing the 2 rings near the dust cover and the 2 bolts on the bottom of the slider.... or do I have to tear into the tube itself?

The manual doesn't really make it clear. It seams you can just remove the 2 bolts on the bottom and the rings.

The one bolt on the side is to drain the oil. It's not a fastener. Snap ring on top and the bolt out of the other end.
