Hello all!!! I'm bored as hell on a friday night with nothing to do.. and I see alot of older members making threads in this new forum (great idea btw...)

My name is Chris and I live in beautiful northeast PA. Coal country! I'm 34 years old and have been riding (mostly trikes) now for 20+ years...

I'll make this short so I dont put you to sleep with boring details.. click the link in my signature for some great action shots of where we ride and some of my former and current rides. I like wrenching and restoring these old rust buckets just as much as I like riding them. currently the only thing I have now is the 85 350x and an 87 lt230 quad. (believe it or not... that's a fun little buggy!)

Any questions or comments.. I'll be glad to reply.

Nah Mike not really no. It's running pretty good so I'm gonna wait till it warms up a bit to swap out the frame. and do all my fancying then. Probably around the end of march.

Thanks for the compliments. unfortunaly I had a ton of great riding pics but lost them all when my computer crashed.

I can't remember if it is an 86 or 87. This is the lt230E.. electric start, auto clutch, and reverse. I picked it up locally off ebay about 3 years ago.

I remember back when I was my son's age now (12) looking through the old dirtwheels mags wanting one of these something terrible. This is one of the first quads (besides the lt250r) that started it all... well fast forward 20+ years... We finally got one! Not the QS (lt230S) but just as good.

My son is starting to get bored with with so it's time to start shopping around for something a bit bigger. the only downfall the quad has is it tends to throw the chain alot. But in a nutshell it has been a pretty fun ride.

Wow.. that's pretty clean! you have problems with that throwing its chain?

Is that a complete supertrapp system or just a slip on.

I woulda loved to have bought the QS.. but I aint crazy about the way the kicker goes sideways. I've ridden one and they're really isn't much diffrence performance wise between the two.

I'll be selling ours shorty and probably picking up a 300ex for the kid. I aint much of a quad guy.. but they are fun to jump on once in a while just for a little change of pace.

It's a whole 'Trapp system. It's also bored and had a cam in it. I have only had it for about a month, and had been waiting for some parts to come in, mainly a throttle and choke cable and a carb kit. I took the carb apart and cleaned it and reassembled but still can't get the carb to take any fuel, so I have a new kit with needle/seat and new jets. I am going to rebuild the carb this week. Also need to check the float to see if it's sunk. It only had a handfull of hours on it after the engine bore and cam, and then it got parked. Sat for a year outside and that's when I got it. I am going to get the rear rack and front bumper Rhino lined I think, but I might leave the rear rack off and put a PRM grab bar on it.
