matching chassis and engine numbers

anyway what i want to know is. is there any way to tell what engine came in what chassis. for my resto i want to make sure that that engine originally came with that frame?

cool so there is no way to exactly tell if motor 'x' was the original motor in chassis 'y'? should the last numbers on the engine be the same as the last numbers on the chassis?

as far as I know the numbers do not match.
