No, Sotck R rims wont correctly work on stock 200x hubs.
I know this becuase I have R rims on stock 200x hubs BUT...I have 350X studs in 200x hubs to accomadate the think azz R rims.

i run 250 rims on my 200x hubs but it's a one way conversion. you have to mill the 4 locating tabs from the 200 hubs so the tapered 250 lug nuts can center the wheel. it's really a problem of two different wheel centering systems but it does work well. i didn't run into a thread length problem with mine, they have stock 200 lugs. running this setup without modifying the hubs is pretty dangerous since all the wheel load is centered on 4 little prongs and not on the flat hub portion of the wheel as designed.
it really solved a problem for me by the way and if i buy new wheels i'll probably get 22 by 10's.

ok I tried mounting my old 86 r rims on my 85200x tonight, and got them on without any mods at all, now the 250r lugs are only grabbing just a few threads on the studs, but what is the problem, the lug nuts loosening up or what? I cranked them down good w/ my 12 volt impact wrench, and rode a good hour on them pretty hard with no loosening at all. I think they would stay with some locktite. How important is the washer? I could get the lug nuts on a bit further without them, but I would be afraid it would oval out the holes. I do like the wide stance that they give the bike, it feels much more stable in turns. I'll probably get some new tires mounted on my x rims, but it will do for a couple days till I do.

i would remove your 250 wheels now and check the flange area with a straight edge,if you put it on with an impact gun you might have bent it, the tabs are that high. u must use the 250 nuts and the washers that are in the wheels MUST stay. wheels on hondas will almost always interchange it's just the centering scheme like i stated before. many moons ago we mounted 350x wheels to 200 hubs unknowingly and ran it pretty hard. luckily they never came apart but i wouldn't get on that setup now and ride it (it's the same mounting problem as the 250r wheels). when i get a chance i'm going to remove those 350 wheels and zyglo the hub area to see if it did crack.
as with any any mod, safety should always be a concern. from my experience the people that don't wear helmets always come up with the scary mods.
86wp if i didn't answer your question let me know.

LOL, well as I said it's temporary, while I get my other tires mounted and I do wear a helmet, by anyhow, I didn't use but a 12 volt impact wrench, so I doubt it would hurt it like a air powered one would. I didn't even notice any tabs on there, maybe mine have long been gone. Thanks for the help,

wow i've been useing a impact gun for my wheels for 10 yrs never bent a hub yet. and as Rob stated for the 200x to use 250R/350X wheels you need longer studs because the rims are thicker.
as for the steel inserts water your right if you run without them you;ll eventually will oval the holes out of the aluminum wheels.

86 i didn't mean you with the helmet crack. when you take the wheel off you'll see the 4 nubbins they're about 1/8 hi.
mr atc it's only a potential problem with mixing the wheel styles ,using an impact gun for properly matched styles is ok. i just went down stairs and with the 200 hubs modded as i described i'm within 3 threads of the lug passing through the nut. not good enough for the nhra but i'll take it.
