Well Im considering going with the bolt in cam from Web Cam to go in my 250sx but at $118.00 + shipping and $150.00 to have someone put it in I wanted to see if any of you guys have tried them first.
I know some of you will say no matter what you do to that 250sx its still gonna be a 250sx and I should save my money and get a 250r 350x or what ever lol. However, I love it and Im not afraid to invest some $$ if its worth it. I have already put the 350x carb on it, Im running the full super trapp exhaust with an open airbox and Uni. I would just like to get as much out of it as I can.

Hey Boo, where ya been lately?
Save the $150 and do it yourself. There are plenty of guys (and gals) here that could help walk you through it!

Well I wish I had a better excuse lol but other then traveling alot for work and doin some remodeling in the house I dont lol. I always check the boards but im not a :postwhore just enjoy lurking in the shadows :)
As for putting in myself...... well $150.00 and I know its done right or trust my ability to do it and take the chance of totally screwing **** up  . Its worth it to know its done right:)
I hear ya'! But I put a new timing chain in my '85 SX and changing the cam can't be too much harder. And if I can do it ANYBODY can! :chuckle:
And even though it's "just" a SX it can still go fast enough to scare and/or hurt you! I know my '85 had some type of mods done prior to me getting it 'cuz it's got way more kick than my bone stock '87. For a sport/ute that thing would really move. All that really matters is this: does it put a smile on your face when you ride it!?! :)

Swinehart and I put a Web Cam in my wife's 225DX when we were putting it together. We also installed hi-rev lifters and HD valve springs at the same time.

So did you go with the standard bolt in or the high performance cam? and how much difference did it make? Im really looking advice on the standard bolt in cam. Im sure somebody has installed one.

Mine has a 10.5:1 piston and a WEBCAM along with the other mods you have. I also have the upgraded springs and keepers in it. It smoked my other stock 87 250SX and was well worth the 600$ I threw in the motor and that was with me doing all the work.
Just about every 250SX or Honda motor for that matter needs a timing chain and guides installed too.

I believe it was a performance cam... it was vintage from back in the day that someone had around. Got the cam, and HD valve springs together for only $40.
