Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I'm 31, married, have a 4 year old daughter. Originally from Coldwater, MI but after 4 years of the Air Force and traveling all over the place another 8 years, I ended up here in Portland, OR.
I started out with 3-wheelers when I was 12, working on and riding my grandfathers '78 ATC 90 which he eventually gave me. I was hooked, and started buying fixer-uppers and ended up with 2-ATC 110, 2-ATC 185s, and the old ATC 90. Well I ended up selling them to a friend when I went into the AF. That was 12 years ago. Then a friend the other day convinced me I needed to buy a quad or dirt bike to go out riding. Well I was looking at used quads when I came across alot of three wheelers online. I decided that a 3-wheeler would be my focus. So I ended up with an '82 250R. And here I am, an Aircraft mechanic w/12 years exp, working on the first thing I ever laid a wrench to, a 3-wheeler. And loving ever minute of it!! My first 2-stroke,and after riding it once, wow is this thing quick! Definately need a longer swingarm as it really likes to lift the front wheel off the ground.
I've got some projects for it (swingarm, forks, etc.) so have been looking around for some advice and found this site. Will be looking to here from some you soon. Thanks, Tim
