hey all, im totally brand new to 3 wheelers. I've been riding dirt ibkes forever, but I jsut decided to buy a atc110 the toher day for 100 bucks because I use to own a ct110 and I loved it, so I figured the 3 wheeler might be fun to put around on in teh mud.
Anyhowm, picked up 2 more yesterday, and they are mostly all complete. I've started 2 of 3 and they run, the third I need to get a pull starter for.
Oh also broke a pull starter on one. I'm thinking I can jsut buy a new piece of rope but we'll see.

Anyhow, got the first one running good without any problems other than a leak at the carb and intake tube so I fixed that, I notice this thing pushes like a mofo, is this normal? It also seems to steer left a bit. I'm wondering if maybe I dont have something bent. or maybe this is typical.
Also any idea what air pressure to run in the tires> Mine are pretty cracked up, but I managed to putt ogether a set that hold air.

Rather than just putting a few pounds of air in each tire, take a measuring tape (soft one) and inflate the tires until they are the same diameter. Wrap the tape around the outside of the tire in the middle. Not all tires inflate exactly the same. This is especially a problem on old hardened tires. New tires are way more plyable and will inflate somewhat evenly but old tires are a different story.

yeah that helped a lot, im not running much pressure at all. Got to take one for a spin today while teaching my friend how to ride amotorcycle. It was quite a blast. I had a great time. They are a real bear to ride on those 4x4 muddy ruts lol.
Started getitng a problem with t cutting out every now and then, thinking mayeb teh vent is plugged, but also getting a miss, which probably has to do with me forgetting to tighten that spark plug and not checking the points. Hopefully I can get another trike going tomorrow.
welcome to the board. show us some pics if you can.

here are a few pics, I need to clean them all up still.
here is my current runner, I abused it pretty good yesterday and she survived for the most part. I started hearing the chain click a little during some muddle hill climbs so I gotta pop off the chain cover and inspect the chain tomorrow. Also need to find some inline fuel filters.

Here are my other 2 plus 3 motorcycles. I have the rear wheels and what not off my 83. I cant seem to get the thing into gear so I think I have a brioke shift fork or something. It will start up but smokes a bit. She was deifnately an abused 110 from what I have seen so far. The other 1979 I cant seem to get running. The guy said it ran fine until he broke the pull starter. I think the cam chain actually jumped a few teeth as I was turning it over and I had spark, and fuel, but no fire. Once it srta fired. I gotta figure out how to find tdc on the crank and cam to reset the timing on it, as I feel that is the issue. The chain was super sloppy when I popped the ignition points off and checked the chain.

You will have to lean forward to keep it from pushing especially when you're goin slow. Just not enough weight on the front tire for it to bite. Go to a local lawnmower shop for new rope. Mower rope will hold up longer than regular rope for the pullstart. Welcome to the board!

ended up getting another atc110 engine today for 75 bucks. Not even sure why I bought it, but it was 75 bucks. I'm tossing it in the 79 I have tomorrow, and hopefully I can get it fired up.
