custom exhaust question

I'm looking into making a custom exhaust for the ATC70 I'm restoring and I was wondering could I use a silencer from a 2 stroke exhaust? What is the difference in a silencer from a 2 stroke machine verses a 4 stroke machine? I can find used aftermarket 2 stroke silencers quite a bit cheaper and the exhaust pipe diameter is closer to correct size for the 70. Thanks.

Hey Bales, checkout ebay. search for CRF 50 or XR 70 exhaust pipes. I just put one on my 70. I had to heat it up and make 2 minor bends to make it work. I also had to make a spacer to stand it off the side of the frame but it worked out beautifully. I love the way it sounds. All this for 56.00 for the muffler and head pipe. There are ones cheaper. You can use heat wrap or make a custom heat shield. Checkout the thread below. I posted pics.
