I'm rebuilding my motor, and i want to do some porting and polishing. I've been told that i have to have the cylinder bored, and then do the porting. That doesn't make any sense because i would have to run those tools down my fresh cylinder and make all sorts of bumps and bangs in the cylinder... just a question.. and i've been told that the cylinder needs to be match ported after the bore... but wouldn't I just port angles and whatnot according to the forthcoming bore?
HELP!!
:wtf:

If you re sleve then you have to have everything touched up. "match ported"
Really it dosent matter before or after. sometimes when boring you have to clean around the ports on the sides. But a good machine shop that does the bore will take care of that for you. Do it in the order thats convient. Who are you going to have port it?

A buddy of mine used to race boats and still Harley flat tracks. He's gonna do my port work, but i was just making sure.

Yeah he's got a Badass CR 250 96 i think, and that thing smoked a alky banshee last year at the hill climbs in Bridgeston .... He's been wrenching on motors for like 35 years... you know those physically disabled people that work out of their garages for extra cash ...... He used to work at a place called united chrome around here and when they went under he bought all of their machines, mill, lathe, bandsaw... all that good kind of stuff... But he does all the work on my buddy's shee, so i like the work he does.
