I don't think I've posted in here yet, so why not.
I'm 17, from British Columbia. Been into trikes since I was around 8, but got away from them from around the time I was 10 to about 6 months ago. :D

It started last summer when I was working full time and finally had enough money to do something with. I wanted a 2 stroke quad but didn't find much in my price range.
I'd noticed a few trikes but mostly just hardtails. I'd wanted a 250R but ******* they're rare around here. Seen 2 in the last 3 years. Well, I'd found an '83 200X online for $750 that supposedly had a rebuilt engine and was 95% complete. Called him up and he told me that it snapped the timing chain a year ago so he rebuilt it. I told him to basically consider it sold and I'd pick it up on the weekend since most running X's go for around a $1000 here.
He calls me back a day before I'm supposed to pick it up and says it won't run. He thinks it's just the timing/bad gas. I said that's fine, but your gunna need to knock the price down, so we agreed on $625 because he assured me that it was a rebuilt engine and he probably just set the timing wrong.
Well I brought it home, tried to get it to fire up and still no go. Set the timing, still no go. Had spark, but it wasn't that great. I figured it, F-it, I'll tear it apart and go through it anyway. Turns out the ******* didn't rebuild anything and must've ran it dry because the cam was ground down to nothing.
I priced out a top end kit and it came out to around $300 with the cam. I decided to hold off for a bit because I knew this thing wasn't going to be fast enough stock anyway. Looking around I realized it wasn't going to be cheap to seriously mod it. So I decided to look for other options and remember that I had a 2 stroke Suzuki in the garage. :D

About 2 months later it came out looking like this. Not including the price of the trike, it cost me a whopping $75 to put it in there.(the cost of the pipe) Still needs new rear tires and fenders(trim job came out nothing like I hoped. :lmao: ) though, along with a liquird R front fender. Don't mind the chain angle in the second pic, it's all fixed now.:

I'm still on the lookout for a 250R, and going to try find one this summer.

Nice looker! What size and year is the zook motor? Does she run good?

Do you have dunes up there?

The pipe was a pain in the ass to get on there and is still a work in progress.
I haven't got the mounts done yet, so at the moment it's held on with a ghetto hose clamp setup. :D
I tried for days to get the stock Suzuki pipe on there but there was just no way that it would fit in between the cylinder and the tank. I had to use a KDX200 pipe because it's made to go outside of the frame/engine area. I had to cut and twist the header to make it work, and had to shorten it a decent amount which threw the powerband way up in the RPM's. It was a pretty big surprise the first time I rode it. There was nothing until about 3/4 throttle when the RPM's starting to climb and then the tires broke loose and threw me back. :D Really peaky bike right now. Once I get more time and money I want to look into a Blaster pipe and see what I can do there. I'll get some close up pics once I get the mounts done and things like that.

Nope, no dunes up here.
It's from an '84 PE175. It was an enduro bike, 6spd with tons of top end.
It was a fun and surprisingly fast bike, but I'm one of those people that are never satisfied with what they have and need to try something different all the time.

It's running pretty good right now, extremely cold blooded though. Takes either 20 kicks to get going or a quick squirt of fuel in the cylinder, but once it's warmed up it's fine.
Heres a quick vid. Looks a little slow, but it was before I got my gearing right and things like that. Not sure what was going on with my shifting either.

Glad to have another Canadian on Board!! Good looking trike you got there!
I'm doing a total rebuild on a Yamaha Tri Moto 200. I'm finding out that parts aren't that cheap for it. I got quoted 41 bucks for one wheel bearing today! And thats not even the dealer. Not cool to say the least.
B.C. has to have some nice riding. Need some action pics. :)

Welcome to the board. I too am from Canada. I have a Big Red 250es. I use mine for hunting, fishing and general use around home. Anytime I run across anyone parting one out, I try to latch onto a few parts even if I don't need them at the time.

For stubble jumper-A guy I know about 10 miles from me has 2 or 3 Yamaha trikes in his shed that he asked me if I wanted to buy them but I didn't. PM me if you want his phone #.
