The forks hold 290 CC (9.8 oz).
After the fort is filled, and has been pumped a few times, with the small spring removed and no load, the oli shouldbe 215 mm (8.5 in) from the top.
See this thread for the manual pages

thanks i'm going to do the fork seals and rebush the brake calipers on my friends 85. he bought it new and it's bone stock except for a twist throttle so if anyone has questions about what is correct for a stock bike let me know. he let a non-atc friend ride it the other day and he dumped it, not bad but the bars bent and the tank dented a little.

Sorry ATCNUT but your wrong about how to check the oil level height both springs should be out and the tubes collapsed to check the level. other then that your info is correct

Your are correct. I just quickly read the manual page. I went back and read it more carefully.

250sx i don't know but i think he used to ride bikes. it's ok though as his punishment was handed out yesterday when he said I DO ha ha ha she's a piece of work. it was fun telling him the bars bend easier than his sister.
