yes thier is a big differance and yes its worth doing. personally i think stock 350X forks SUCK and would not even think of having stock forks on any of mine. and the times i've borrowed other 350X's for long rides i would install my forks

Can you elaborate a little on this? Where to get the parts? Who to have do the work? Cost (approximate) breakdown? Does the cost include rebuilding an old rear shock completely? I've got 2 350's that need SOMETHING done to the rear shock...

Thanks.

sure,

the first thing to do is to buy a progressive suspension spring at about 70-80.00

then send your shock and new spring to WORKS PERFORMANCE. along with a note listing the machine (350X in this case) your weight (very important) type of riding you do (track, trail, ect.) and your skill level ( be honest with yourself on your skill or you'll end up with a shock not right). tell them you want the "GUTS" transplant kit and to valve it for the progressive spring. the cost for the kit and labor is 360-370.00

one very important note i must make. when i first had this done to one of my 350X shocks they called me and questioned my using the progressive suspension spring. they felt the kit worked fine with the stock spring. after explaining to them why i did not like the stock spring they understood ( the stock spring is a progressive rate winding and i feel not very consistant. the progressive suspension spring is a straight rate and very consistant ) so be prepared for them asking questions about the spring. if you want you can tell them i sent you. they have all of my settings saved and can reprodeuce a shock exactly like mine if you want.

Troll, the link you posted is not to the tip. the information needed is in the tech tip forum. the link you posted is to a thread at 3ww about a fake 87 350X. i say fake because the "87" tag is on the wrong side of the steering stem and anybody can have those tags reproduced.
