I found accessor outlets, like the car cigarrette lighters, and was wondering if i could wire one up to my 250sx. i think the big red has one so i figure, why can't my trike. it was like 3.50 for one at walmart. i have no idea what i could use it for, but i think it would be cool to have one. also, how much electrical power is generated by my bike? does this thing have a stator and is the stator the same thing as a magneto? i want to wire up some extra lights for it but i don't want to kill my battery or have a significant drain on my electrical system.

as far as the 12V outlet (?) on the big reds...ive heard from quite a few people that itd be very stupid to use it as a ciggarette ligther, because it would burn soemthing out in time.

i was thinking of having a toggle switch wired to it that way i could turn it on and off when i want to use it.

heres the electric stuff. headlight: 12v 60/55w; tailight 12v 5w; neutral and reverse indicator are both 12v 3w. i was really hopin that i'd be able to hook up some fog lights and even the accessory cigarrette lighter thing.

i was asking if any one knew for sure if the sx had a halogen lamp and if you read through the post youll notice that i also said i dont hae the original lamp. therfore even if it says its halogen that means nothng bacause its not the right lamp.

the stock headlight should be 60/60w the tail light should be a 13.3w

fuzzy, are those figures right  ? for 86-87 'sx headlight is 12v 60/55w and for the 85 'sx headlight is 12v 45/45. both tailights are 12v 5w. i got these out of the Clymer repair manual for the bike.
headlight
250es- 12v-60/60w
250sx- 12v-60/50w
all other models- 12v40/45w ( trx, fourtrax
taillight
SX,ES,- 12v-5w
Trx, fourtrax- 12v-3.5w
N indicator- 12v-3w
R indicator- 12v-3w
oil-fourtrax- 12v-3.5w
Thats the list. it does not matter what name is on it as lone as your Vs an Ws match.

ok so dose it matter halogen or regular. i have a 55/55 headlight and i think the rest are the right ones. but dose halogen suck mor juice? or could the oroblem be somewhare else.

i don't think it would suck more juice if it's the same wattage as it should be. However, nobody has agreed yet on the headlight wattage for the 85 'sx. According to my clymer manual the stock headlight is 45w/45w (hi/lo) so i'll just assume on my own that i can not add fog lights to my bike and that the battery will drain but what about the cigarrette lighter??

I have to say im going with clymer this time it dose make cense,. if im drawing 55 out of something that should only loos4 45 of cousre it going to kill the battery and the battery dose die slowly so ill have to try and get a stock light. i have some spare parts in the garage that im going to trade to a 3 wheeler junk yard i guess getting the headlight housing and what knot will be on my list next to new forks and hub w/brakes (front)

I was going by the dennis kirk replacement bulb guide. According to them the 85-87 250sx and 250es both take the 60-60w bulb. I dont have a repair manual on them models. So i hope i didnt screw you up. I was just going by what they say to replace it with.
According to partsfish the honda light for a 85 250sx is a 45-45w
The bulb for the 86/87 250sx is a 60-55w.

ive had some troubles with dennis kirk. so im going to go with parts fish and clymer and find a 45/45. dennis kirk has screwed me once or twice so forget them.
The wattage i posted was out of a clymer 200 250 84-87.
