Ok so I saw some 300ex extended hubs for sale on ebay. They don't talk about any honda ATC but they do say they widen the stance by 1 3/4" on each side.
Am I correct in assuming that this would widen a stock 300ex by 1 3/4"? Does this mean if I buy these for my 200X that it would widen the axle to around 6 inches total? Don't the stock 300ex hubs widen a 200X a little over an inch on each side?
Do any of you know someone that has baught a set of these 300ex extended hubs and used them on their ATC? Would this be a bad idea to get these?

I know KASEY knows his ****! BUT
I had a friend.. I forget the username... it was on 3ww.com.. he purchased a set and they would not fit in the stock bolt pattern on the 200X.... then I heard they would not fit the 350X as well...
Well I mean I heard with a file to the rim holes they work.. but I would not buy them.
although I never did buy a set to try em myself.......
I could be wrong though..
Now just a heads up.. I got wheel spacers.. their 1.5 inches on either side... so a total of 3 inches wider.... for sale.... ****ty deal is I have had a hard time selling them because I bought 10 grade hardware for them.. and it cost me $67 bucks for the hardware..
So $80.00 if your interested.. I know this end of the convo belongs in the classfieds.. just saving a member some cash in the end.

Thanks for the info Dan.
So basicaly you are ether telling me that these hubs aren't true 300ex hubs or that everyone that says that 300ex hubs work on a 200X is wrong? I'm not questioning you, I'm just trying to figure it all out. Is it possible that a stud on your friend's hubs was bent and that's why we couldn't get them on?

300ex and 200x both have the same spline count and bolt pattern
if your buddys didnt fit..... well why do you think they are on ebay cheap?.......blems

Ok now that it's clear that they will work I have to go back to any original question about how wide they will be.
These say they are "EXTENDED REAR HUBS FOR A 300EX". They say they are extended 1.75 on each hub. Am I correct in assuming that they are 1.75 over a stock 300ex hub that is already 1 inch over a stock 200X hub? Wouldn't that make this "EXTENDED REAR HUB" 2.75 wider than a stock 200X hub for an over all total of 5.5?
That was a big part of my question due to the price. I can get these for $100 shipped to my door but if they are the same as a stock 300ex hub then I'd rather save my money and find some good used stock 300ex hubs.
These look way wider than a stock 300ex hub.......

like I said no one has had luck.. I would get the stockers.... if your going that route.

to me they seem more offset then stock hubs

the auction description i read,, says it adds 1.75 to each side ,,, nothing about 1.75 more than a stock hub,,, so the way i read it it looks like you only get .75 per side on a 300ex but 1.75 per side on a 200x,,,, for a total of 3.50 total,, on a 200x,,,,:D

I purchased some of these, because they were listed to fit the 350X. They don't fit the 350X, but they are a nice wheel hub. They appear to have some coating on them, maybe it's anodized, I'm not sure. They are HUGE!

Dan the reason they wouldnt work on a 200x is that the 200x rim has a weled lip that the hubs bolt to. When you try and put 200x rims on a 350x they wont clear, they hit this welded lip. You must grind down the outside edge of the hub. So im assuming that this is the problem putting these hubs on to a 200x with stock rims. Aftermakret rims you will be A-OK

Thanks for clearing that up. You guys have been very helpful. I think I'm going to order some. I want to run a 10 inch wheel so I don't think I'll have a problem with the weld.

I disagree with the "BLEMS". The spline is equal to the 200X axle, the bolt pattern is equal to the 200X bolt pattern (4-110), but read carefully... he said his stock 200X rims wouldn't fit. That is because the holes are smaller diameter or think this way, the later quads and the 350X/water R's have larger diameter studs on the hub. I have a set of stock 200X rims I put on my 350X with Pro Wedge tires on them... they are very tight on the 350X hub studs.... not because my 350X studs are "BLEMS", but becasue they are larger diameter than the intended bolts/studs on a 200X hub. (Off top of my head, seems like 200X/old R's/ATCs had 8mm studs, later TRX/350X/Water R 10mm)

Huh.... I went to Home Depot on my NY Outlaw loaner trike and bought all my hardware for under $10 for my 2¾" per side wheel spacers for my NY Outlaw Loaner Trike. Though, I want to go and get the correct metric bolts someday so I can used the tapered metric lug nuts to use my 86' 350X rear rims/tires. I didn't think about that at the time.

Gdkarma.... These hubs don't work on a 350X because a 350X has a 26 tooth rear spline, while a 200x/300EX etc has a 24 tooth rear spline.

I'm sort of going through the same thing using my 2 3/4" wheel spacers Bruce. I can't find the proper metric (gr. 8) bolts anywhere. The only ones I could find where the standard ones. Which are a bit smaller in diameter. I think thats why I had a small wobble in the rear when riding on hardpack. None of my local hardware stores carry the long bolts in metric I need.
I may just suck it up and go with an extended axle. but I do like the looks of those hubs in question. I've never had any issues running these ones but those look a bit safer to me. :)

AWWWW YES you are correct, i do rember this:doh: its been about 3 years since i had the 200x rims, They got stolen along with the 200x. So i havent encountered this problem in a while but your correct flip the rims and your good to go.

I wonder if some of our Canadian trikers or UK trikers could help us out in that??
Metric bolts are the red headed step children of American hardware. :thmbsdwn:
