check and clean fuel filter. (remove fuel tap) check for spark, take out the plug and turn it over while holding the plug with HT attached against the head bolts. that will show if your getting a spark or not. try changing the plug first if nothing. then to access the points remove pullstart cover and the cage which enagages the pullstart. line the F mark with the index mark (small indent at the top of the case). there should be a hole in the flywheel which you'll be able to see the points through. the gap should be between 0.30-0.40mm not sure what that is in inch's, if this is okay she should fire up. if no joy you'll have to pull off the fly wheel. simply undo the centre nut and using a flywheel pull she'll come off. replace the points and condenser put it back together check and adjust the points gap. altho to be totally honest i managed to get a my 85 atc70 to fire up after simply adjusting the points and putting in some fresh fuel. it had been sitting for 10 years and started first or second pull. also just make sure the black wire coming out the engine is plugged in. but the timing is essential it has to be perfect or simply will not run.
