I recently purchased a rolling tri-z frame for next to nothing but the motor is missing. I have an extra banshee motor lying around and was wondering what any suggested on frame mods? I have currently cut teh down tube and the cradle and have the motor mocked up but was looking for some guidence. I know roosking had one but cannot seem to find any pics of how the frame was modded.
Also i believe 03 orange shee has modded one as well. I have a general idea of what needs to be done. I have mocked up a single down tube to fit between the exhaust ports but it doesnt look the best. So if anyone can help me or shed some kinda light pics would be great so would be links.
Thanks
Chris

Welcome to the board new member! Take the time to tell about yourself and your interest in 3 wheelers in the New Members thread. Here you can also share photos of your trike(s).
I've seen one of these swaps for sale on Ebay, but not heard much about how it was done. I'm interested in hearing the outcome of this research! Has anyone tried to use a newer YZ motor in the frame as well?

Too late on the 86 frame its already cut up but i still have a spare i have a rolling 85 and another 86 frame.
I have all the motor mounts mocked up except for the font banshee mounts and after that i will burn it and and get you guys some pics.
It fits well with the single downtube i made for it i just need to make some gussets and supports and she is ready for paint.
th eonly problem i forsee is the front fender will need to be trimmed in the rear thats about it.
I bolted my banshee +10 swinger on it to get a judgement on length it looks pretty sick I got pretty excited when i thought all the banshee rear linkeage would bolt up but it wouldnt exactly work i guess Marvin shaw is gonna get an order from me. Im just not sure if i want the drag shock or hill shooter this will be ridden everywhere not just the drags.
I need to figure out the fuel tank issue the the stock setup will not feed my 4mil. I so wish i could get a klemm tank designed.
this build may take a little while because I am in the process of restoring a 86 ATC 250R as well but I will def get you some pics of each.
Any other info you think will be useful for me let me know
thanks
Chris

Yes CPI's and Shearers are hand in hand but i cannot use inframes. I am eyeing a set of oof cpi's but they are unsilenced I would really like to get a set of silenced oof's.
I got a little more done last night got the rear mount welded in i need to gusset it and also need to figure out how to mount the front of the motor to the downtube without getting in the way of the pipes.
I will get pics this weekend of the Z and the 250r with the new coat of paint on the frame.
Any ideas of length on the swingarm i could use?

It matters not what pipe you want, I am the one that builds ALL the banshee drag pipes, with muff, without, big bore, big bore 500cc, big bore 600cc big bore 700cc and 800cc's! If you want out of frame drags with silencers, just say so, I get them at a HUGE discount and would gladly help any triker out there.
BTW, The CPI's will KILL the Shear pipes! Not trying to brag but I've seen thier crap on the dyno and was unimpressed!
When I say drag pipes it means out of frame. We DO NOT build any in frame drag pipes! There are in frames, in frame big bore (up to 480cc or so) and drags. ALL drags are out of frame! I can make Same side left or right also but I think both side drags would be KILLER on your trike. I have had dreams of doing it my self! (we also build cool head and interchange able domes for banshee's plus a 470cc 100 hp+ motor kit for them)

BansheeHQ.com is a good place to see alot of information about them. From what ive read and see from dyno shees depending on the power there are 4 pipes worth getting, PTR's, Toomy, CPI and Shearers. It all depends on the power you want, i have no clue about OOF's. Only worked with CPI's.

3wheelergod Id def like to get the pipes through you if at all possible to help a fellow triker out. Yes i believe chrome out of both sides will do the trick small bore drag pipes. Id like to get them muff'd if at all possible pm me a price if you dont mind i am very interested.
I took some pics last night of the Z and a few of my 250r frame i will try to get them posted later on today.
Bansheehq is a great site believe planetsand is pretty informative.
Now i just gotta decide do i want to use the ported cylinders i got or get a cub for the Z?

Cub motors SUCK, unless you 10mm stroke them. I'd run your ported cylinders, drag's, 34mm carbs, 16cc domes in a coo lhead and you will be around 65hp with the right port job!
PM sent!

I agree cubs suck, Good ported stock cyl's will eat cubs up.
Chase, i just went from 34's to 37 and love it, Have you guys worked with any carbs that big on shee?

Doing a 520 T-rex 10mm right now with 38 flats!!!! (bored to 41.5) Hehe
You still stock cylinders?
We always lose a little top end with bigger than 35mm (bored 34's) on our dyno, they just are too big to supply a proper air velocity for good atomization IMO!!!!
How well do they work for you down around sea level??? What is your elevation anyways?????

I love them, pulled all my power up in the rpm's some, before it didnt fall off it just didnt pull as hard when really reved out now it seems to still pull hard. Since its a flattrack bike thats more of what i want.
Im stock bore/stroke with ported cyl's coolhead, pyramid reeds, Ptr mid's, with an airbox and proflow. Dynoed with the old carbs at 59.8. Powerband started at 2200 rpm.

its alittle dusty in the pics, but i run plus 12 on two the the z's i own. in drags the +10 spins too much, even with pro wedges/4snows. then if you sit too far back the front comes up.
the other is what the tank looks like..

Well i finished the Z up this weekend the motor mounts are done and all the frame mods are complete. I will get pics as soon as i can for you guys. the only problem i see are the radiators they hit the top of the banshee cylinders so i was thinking of mounting a raptor rad under the seat with 2 electric fans anyone have any other ideas other than thats she is ready for paint. I also got my 4mil crank and cylinders back but am now looking at a set of t-rex cylinders to put on it ha. should be fun. I hope the radiator will get enough airflow be mounted in the back but they way this build is going it will be running on methanol so that will help out some right there.

its a red and white Z originally and thats what i was gonna make it but i was also thinkin the all back yamaha special edition scheme from 2003 or 2004 thats a shame cant even remember when i got my banshee well black and polished and chrome.
or any other ideas I also need a seat cover i was thinkin velvet or a stock style cover.
I am gonna order some terrain traks from scat track just am unsure on the size and paddle number any ideas on that?

Do you have a BB inframe?
What happens to the power when you put the big bore pipes on a sb engine, Or visaversa?
