The best thing you can do to speed up your big red is to sell it and buy a 200x.
Speed cost money. :2finger:

The only thing that I know that does not cost any money is to wait until the wind is blowing. Ride into the wind and you will feel like you are going really fast.

I think trying to get the speed out of the big red is a waste of time, but thats personally my opinion. it's not geard for speed.
what you could look at is maybe small adjustments for better throttle response maybe. a better air filter. a lil better breathing exhaust. everything costs money. can't get by much without it.

I got my big red running nice, it's got 26" vampires on it right now :) Out runs my friend's timberwolf, and it goes 55 on the dot.
If you're willing to destroy(well, the originality of it at least) your muffler and break the law, you can take the baffle/spark arrestor off the end and re-jet it(do BOTH though, I believe). My friend's done this and it really opened his wheeler up nice, and sounds good.

FYI: Both the SX and Big red 250 are 2 valve--not 4--neither are!
And Im not sure on the trx300 but im 50% sure it wasnt a 4 valve either. Most honda ute's--even today---jsut couldnt get anymore -low-tech...theyre 2 valve air cooled 4 strokes.

the SX and ES are 2 valve. I've heard of using a 4valve 250X head, but nothing concrete. I have talked to someone who claims that a 2valve trx300 head/jug will bolt onto the 250SX/ES motor with no other mods.
