This was the last 200x I had the chance to build... wiseco 12.5:1 piston, supertrapp exh., keihin 32mm carb, hot cam,6+6 rear axle, holeshots on douglas rims, stripped everything down and repainted honda red, new maier plastics... had to sell it last year (wife wanted a bigger house) spent alot of time and money on this one, and this trike screamed... I like what Kasey's doing with the cr500 conversion...wish I had the time to try a project like that...Kasey, if you have the chance to write down some spec's on the frame I'd love to look at them.. I'm sure there was alot of choice words before you got it to fit right... might help someone who could be thinking of trying a project like yours..

Very Nice. I notice in the post you stated it was a 85. But the swing arm is off a 83. Is the year wrong?. Or did you have to replace swingarms?

I hope you will be able to build another one in the future.

the original was shot ( bearing falure) so i used an 83 I know it's not as good but it's all I could come up with at the time.. good catch :)I also decided to use the white plastic instead of red.. I wasn't to happy with the fit of maier plastic.. but again thats all I had to work with

Hi Mark! Trike looks great man! :headbang:

I think I just bought something off of you on ebay not too long ago... hotwheels909 ring a bell? :D Great doing business with you, sir! (If it's you - if not, sorry!)
Good to see you here! I see you sold this one - do you have any more?

I see what you mean about the Maier plastic - the rear fender doesn't seem to line up very well with the tank...

I'm planning on getting new plastics for mine once I tear it down and repaint it. I sure hope all Maier plastic doesn't look like that since I don't know where else to get any! I have an IMS plastic tank now too, so I'm definitely concerned about the fit...

Let me know if you have any other good parts for the 200X lying around, I might be interested, especially in any in high-performance upgrades (Like that carb you mentioned!).

Cheers!
Sean

Hey Sean,
Yes, that was me.. thanks again for the quick payment. No this was the last one that I've had a chance to really work on, we just bought a house this past spring and I've been busy around here, I hope this winter things will slow down some and I'll have more time. Beleive it or not I bought this machine with the motor already built for 300 bucks off a kid who couldn't get it running... It didn't like plain 87 octane gas, and with the compression so high.... it bucked like a mule when you kicked it over, he thought the motor was screwed up and sold it cheap!!!... thru some 104 in it and she purred like a kitten..LOL... I've had to use Maier fenders alot and 99% of the time they don't fit very well.

Ok i see. I still have the stock 83 swing arm on my 200x and havnt had any problems with it. But i always keep a close eye on it. And thats why i noticed yours right off. I like the white plastic. I am builing a 84 200x this winter. And i am thinking of going with the white plastic because i sure like the way it looked on yours.

Wow, sounds like you got a great deal on that Mark! Poor kid - too bad he didn't know what he was doing!:demon:

I hope I have better luck with the Maier's, but if not, what can you do? Guess I'll have to wait and see.

No problem with the fast payment - I always pay immediately. Thank YOU for the lightning fast shipping! :D It was a pleasure doing business with you.

Good luck on searching for another when you can - if you ever need any help just give me a holler!

Cheers!
Sean

Markspx,
I have a similar setup on my '85 200X; 10.25 wiseco piston, midrange webcam, and a DG exhaust. Where did you get the 32mm carb? I have a 26mm carb from a xr200r, which I have yet to put on because the stock throttle cable is too short. Does the gas really make a huge difference? I've used 87 and 93 octane and didn't really notice a difference between the two.

Very nice looking bike. I know in my '83 200x with the high comp wiseco piston and a radical cam the gas makes a huge difference. Ping city with the cheap stuff.
