Hi I just picked up a 1985 350x and I am in the process of getting the tank repainted. Does anyone have any codes I can give the body shop so I can get as close to the factory white tank color? I ordered new oem honda wings and have a set of instruction decals on the way. Were the original wings cleared over? I owned a 1985 350x back in the late 80's and I cannot remember. Thanks for any info.

The 85 and 86 350X models had a slightly different shade of white on each.

1985 code *NH23*
1986 code *NH138* <-- Shasta WHITE

The online catalog I went to didn't have the actual colors, but there are the codes. I think 86 was Shasta White and possibly the 85 had the word grey in it... out on the limb but something like Lemming Grey??? The '86 is a brighter white mainly because the 85 was a creamy white and looked dingy next to the new white plastic for '86 I'm searching for the code NH23 code.... brb...

The decals were NOT clear coated over, though depending upon how picky of a resto, that would tip someone off. If you are just doing this for yourself, I'd probably clear over the decals so that they are protected and don't wear off.

I'm sure you also know that the wings and warning decals are different for 85-86. '85 wings HONDA is red, and the wing colors are different, 86 the Honda is white. The 86 part numbers usually end in -670, while 85 end in -000 unless there was a model year revision. (ie -010, etc) One model year had 3 warning decals, and the other had just 2. I know at least one of the warning decals on the 86 tank has the -670 code on it. One of the 86 decals was identical to 85 with a HA5-000 code on it.
