have a 79 honda 110, runs fine, good throttle response, runs great at top end. only problem is that it will not idle very well, if you set it to idle at a low rpm when it is warm, it will not idle at all when it is cold, and the idle wont stay constant when it is warm, it will slowly rise in rpm's as it sits there. wont stay a steady chug. i have already messed wiht the idle screw alot, and the air fuel mixture screw, and nothing seems to change it besides making it idle higher, or not idle at all. but like i said, it runs great at full throttle, and half throttle, just wont idle. so where should i look for my problem at???

I have had that problem a few times. Try moving the clip on the needle. It you drop the clip down one notch that will help it to get more gas when cold. Then set your idel down it should be fine.

I dont know if this is right but when ours did that it was because the air filter was not oiled properly...just a suggestion

tried moving the needle both ways, its in the 3rd position rightnow, it would not start very easily in either places. so it went back to where it was. the carb came off a 90 that i got 5 years ago, had been sitting since 82 becuase the person bent the frame in half, it was sitting in the back of an insulated shed.when i found it. no fuel had been in it, and the gas tank is spotless. but i couldnt get the motor to run, found out it had a cracked jug. so its a parts machine. but back to the carb. everything on it looks brand new, no scratches, jets are perfect, little screen is perfect. im gunna try the air filter next, any more ideas??? thanks in advance..

Did you rejet the carb? If it was off of a 90 I would think that it would need bigger jets for the 110.

Good idea to make sure the jets are right.

Also even though the carb looked clean did you ream out all the airways to make sure there wasnt any varnish built up in them. I use a small bread twist tie and burn the paper off of it and use that to poke through all the little airways in the carb to make sure that something isnt plugged. All it takes is one little speck in one of them airways and the thing will run like crap.
