I was doing some high speed passes on the highway and ran my 250R out of gas. Believe it or not that is the first time I ever did that on a 2 stroke (except for a weedeater). Anyhow, this joker wound up and would not shut off, even with the switch off. Once it finally died, I turned it to reserve and it started after a couple kicks. Whats up with THAT? Could that have screwed my cylinder or piston up. I'm assuming it was running very lean as it was burning the rest of the gas up. I was waiting for it seize up tight but it didn't. Freaked me the -F- out though.

I have a 1980 yz 80 an have done the same thing hundreds of times and never had a problem,in fact it was this spring that we finally had to rebuild the top end , and then it was only the bearings, cours i ALLWAYS ran it a lot richer in oil than the book said i should, so it had PLENTY if oil:lmao:
as long as it still runs good (I PERSONALY ) wouldn't worry about it

When it happens hold both brakes tight and pop the clutch to kill the motor to keep from doing any damage.
