Sounds like the float is not adjusted properly. It needs to be adjusted up to allow the carb to fill with more gas. And it might be not able to refill the carb fast enough when you are riding it. Have you tried pulling the gas line off the carb. And making sure you have a good gas flow to the carb?. If you do then pull the carb and check your float adjustment.

If you have a metal float. You can bend the little tab that lifts the needle up and adjust it accordingly. Until you get the float to sit level.

I have a 200m that did the same thing, it ran for a few minuts then quit.... I found out that my gas cap air vent was blocked and I had to take the cap off then it ran.. I drilled a real little hole in the top of the cap and the problem went away.
If it happens again take the cap off and try it

my bike always gets vapor lock. the old school gas caps are terrible at venting. i just take the cap off before i start it (i can hear air like gettin sucked in when i take it off). Then a few minutes into my ride i do it again and i'm good to go for another little while before i have to pop the top off again. pain in the azz? yes. but atleast the remedy is easy and its really not a major problem.
