View Full Version : Skid Plate Screws...all the same on Hondas?

I ask because they are DC'ed from bikebandit (im sure i could get them OEM somewhere else but...) and need 3 of 4 of them for my 87 200x. Are they all the same? Engien Skids on Hondas? I know the 83-85's only have 3 screws, whereas the 86/87 200x's had 4 and I believe its the same on 350x's also. IF they are infact all the same: whos got some to sell me?

Just go to the hardware store, I'm sure they'll have metric bolts to fit

Mine vibrated out and i got them at the hardware store. I know you want to find stock ones. But i was just telling you that the hardware store does carry them. I think they were like $.07 each. So i wouldnt run out and pay a couple of bucks apiece to get stock ones.

hmm....maybe Ill take the advise of you 2 guys then. Do they look just like stockers?

I dont have a picture but they look just like the stock ones. I had one stock one left when i realized what had happened so i took that to the hardware store with me to make sure i got the right size.

Besides it ia skidplate. No one is going to climb under it and inspect the blots to see weither they are stock or not:doh: :D

allrighty--thanks man! Ill be checkin that out this weekend fi I geta chance to run up tot he hardwatre store (lucky i still got one bolt left!!)

if you've got a good size hardware store they should have "washer head" 8mm screws. the main difference is the head won't be hollowed out like honda does and the wrench size never seems to be the same.

yep--put soem nice Gold Brass ones in I had. Turns out theyre the exact same but gold, brass and a BIT shorter--but its nott gonna matter.

i love hardware stores! we have a real great one here with all the goodies , i have been replacing most of the stock bolts with stainless too ,, they are a little spendy too,,,
