Well i am no 2-stroke exspert but i would go with the 6. It looks like it is going to flow a lot more air throught it them the 4.

well if you have seen a rad valve, you would use the 4 reed one , it is smaller looking but it directs the air more presicely to the cylinder , a cr reed cage is more like the 4 reed valve too .it has a plastic insert in it to direct the air too,,,

the 6 petal is stock, i've never seen the aftermarket use 6 it's usually 4 like kasey said. i've got a 96 cr and it's 4 with the stuffers.

so is that a cr intake?

It is either a CR reed cage and boot OR a older FMF "RAM" valve with the supplied plastic stuffer.

The shape of that intake boot on the left makes me lean toward something off a CR.

Your best bet is the cage on the left. First find out exactly what it is (look for MFG labels molded in) and pick up the best replacement reeds you can buy.

Anyway, thats my .02$

I took my reed cage out from my 85 250R this weekend, and it looks like the one on the right, with 6 petals.

Whats a rad valve?
