I can check them. Do you have the spec's and order?
No, do a search for manuals.

I've had electrical issues in the past with a 225, but they are usually intermitent. Mine would run great for 5-10 minutes and then lose power spit and sputter and die. Sit for 5-10 minutes and then start right back up. I ended up changing the ignition coil with a spare and it quit it.
Are the floats set correctly?? IE does it have enough fuel available at higher rpms? Make sure your fuel filter screen isn't all plugged up too.
Does it do it regularly every time you rev it up?? You might also check that your timing is correct. Had that issue too... had a stretched timing chain.

Sputtering could be a rich condition. If it falls on its face when you stab the throttle, it could be that you're too rich...try adjusting the main screw on the carb.
If by sputtering you mean it pops when you give it gas and then chop the throttle, most likely you are a touch lean...this happens in cold weather when the air is more dense (more air into the cylinder due to the dense air causes you to be a bit lean).
Just thought I'd throw out the carburetor main screw adjustment as a starting point since it's very easy to do...if it's not the problem, simply adjust the main screw back to where it was before.
Ballpark valve clearance on most single overhead cam engines is .003" - .004" on both intake and exhaust.

Thanks guys! It happens whether hot or cold i disassembled the carb and everything seems clean and adjusted. I guess i'll check the ignition coil (is that the main coil under the fuel tank or the one in the motor?)
