my bike smokes a bit i tore it down the rings are half worn and i need to know if i should bore or hone it it has one small scratch in the wall

also is there anyway it can be bored out a little and still use stock piston is there i way i can get oversized rings that would fix it and not need a piston

It depends on how deep the scrath is. If it isnt to deep i would just hone it and put new rings in. The only time you need to bore it is if there is a ridge where the piston rings were rudding on the cylinder wall. Iy you run your finger up and down the cylinder and can feel a ridge then it should be bored.

As far as the rings. If you go over sized then you should have a over sized piston also. They dont make any extra wide rings because it would cause too much piston slap and the rings would be too likley to snap. Because of the compression.

its only has one strach so i will hone it put rings in it and i am good to go thanks for the help u just saved me $60 and it was a $60 i dont have

i don't know guys................
this isn't a 350 chevy we're dealing with....
from my own personal experience with 2-stroke motors, it is ALOT better to spend a little now, than alot later.......
just buy rings and you can probably get 2 less bores out of the jug.....
just my opinion........

don, please explain what you mean when you say, if you just replace the rings, you will get two less bores out of the jug.
