I was wanting to know if any of you guys with the YTM service manual could tell me if it lists wear limits for the YTM centrifugal clutch. My centrifugal clutch seemed to be sluggish.... I took it apart and it looks serviceable. Perhaps it's my primary driven gear clutch pack.

?? Thanks.

I dont know much about the Yamahas but when you say sluggish. Do you mean it seems like it is slipping?. I good way to tell which clutch it is. Is to get it rolling slowly so you know both clutches are engauged. And then hit the gas hard. If it is the main clutch it should slip.

If it is like the honda centrifical clutch. Some times they get glazed from people riding the clutch to much like real slow speed stop and go. And the honda kit is around $50.00-$60.00. But i have been able to sand them down some. To remove the glaze and help them grab again. It might be worth a try to tell you which clutch is causing the trouble.

Also if it seems kind of grabby like it wants to go but kind of chugs along when you start out. You might want to check the spring on the centrifical. When they get weak they tend to let the clutch out too soon. Before the engine has had a chance to get up to the right rpm.

Adam, the service limit on the primary(centrifugal) clutch is 0.059in . Standard shoe thickness is 0.079in. As far as the the friction plates the limit is 0.110 and the standard thickness is 0.120in. Hope this is what you need. Chuck

Take care of that DR. They are the class of the sport/utililities. They truly are superior to the 250SX. The 250SX is a great trike but the gearing is too far apart to keep up with the DR. Been there and done that!!!!!!!!!!! Rode both on the same day(ride) and there is no comparison.
