Im new to the forum and i am new to the mechanics of 3 wheelers. I bought an 86 250SX from a friend for $200 because he didn't have time for it. Its getting power to the headlight, starter, neutral light, etc. but its not getting spark. He said it was at idle one day and it just cut off and wouldn't start back up. I put a voltmeter to the two terminals on the ignition coil while turning the motor over and its not getting power. I visually checked the kill switch and it looked fine. I've checked nothing else. I just got ahold of the Honda repair manual for it so that should help and i have read around and learned some but i was hoping someone could give suggestions, tips of where to start checking, or writeups for repair or something. Thanks a lot,

Buddy

Check the other thread right here about 250sx.

You have to make sure the neutral switch is connected and working. A 250sx will not start if not in neutral and with the ground provided by the neutral switch.

The battery power is only for the lights and starter, the ignition coil for the spark is a competly different circuit and is not connected to the powered circuit.
