JUST STRIPPED THE WHOLE TRIKE DOWN TO BARE FRAME,AND COULD DO WITH A HELPING HAND IF POSSIBLE!

1.I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE SURE FRAME IS OK(STRAIGHT)IS THERE ANYWHERE THAT WOULD TELL YOU ANY MEASUREMENTS OF THE FRAME TO CHECK MINE AGAINST???????

2.I BROUGHT A 'GENUINE' YAMAHA MAIN SWINGARM BOLT FOR THIS BIKE,IT HAS BEEN RODE FOR LESS THAN 5 HOURS AND SNAPPED THE BOLT,RIGHT AT THE END WHERE THE THREADS START!!(WAS TIGHTENED TO CORRECT TORQUE)THE REPLACEMENT BOLT I GOT WAS HOLLOW,BUT ON MY 85 TRI-Z IT IS SOLID,ANY OF YOU KNOW WHICH IS CORRECT OR IF IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE?

3.LAST QUESTION,,,THE SWINGARM HAS A SLIGHT CRACK IN IT,,DO I NEED TO TAKE THIS TO THE SHOP TO BE DONE OR IT OK TO WELD UP MYSELF?????

WILL HAVE FULL PICTURES OF REBUILD SOON!

AND IF ANY HELP TO ANY1 WITH A TRI-Z THE WARRIAR REAR SHOCK WORKS FINE!!!!:headbang:

Are you saying the solid bolt that was in it broke? I think they'er all supposed to be hollow which may be why yours broke.

How good of a welder are you? :D Might be a good time to add a couple inches. ;)

THE BOLT THAT SNAPPED WAS 'HOLLOW',THAT IS THE ONE I GOT FROM YAMAHA,THE ONE IN MY 85 TRI-Z (NOT SURE IF ITS BEEN REPLACED)IS SOLID!!

PRETTY GOOD WITH A WELDER,ANY1 EXTENDED A TRI Z SWINGARM THEMSELVES?WHERE THEY CUT IT,ETC,ETC.??

My 85 is a solid bolt. I see all the newer dirt bikes have hollow case hardened bolts. may be the new stile. may not take the torque the lod ones did.

My arm also had a crack just in front of the shock, however i got out the mighty MIG and done it myself, NO PROBLEM!!

YOU CAN JUST SEE IN THE PICTURE WHERE I FINISHED GRINDING IT OFF
