Hi all I'm fairly new to the boards but not to riding, I have been looking for a 250sx or 350x for some time now and have found both at the same time. I am wondering what each would be worth. The sx is in really good shape with new rear plastics everything else is original. The 350x is in really good shape also but the seller says that it smokes some and probably needs some valve work, how do I know if all it needs is valve seals or could it be something more wrong like rings, etc.? Thanks in advance for your input.

For your area I would put the over/under for a 250SX at around $850, and for a 350X that needs a top end rebuild I would say $750-900
Some places like yours You won't see a 350X but 4 or 5 times all year or less ! It's about how much You want one. If I knew there might not be another chance, I'll just pay what it takes. It's worth it.:hail:

Hey Ted, wouldn't You also agree that the 350X is 100 times the trike the 250SX is?

They are two different animals. But if your after more of a sport trike Id get the X. If you want a sport/utility get the SX. Depends what kind of riding you want to do with it.
SX has reverse and elec start as well as kick start right??
350x' s dont come along around me often either. In the past year I probably only saw 5 or 6 forsale between Buffalo AND Rochester CL.
And only 3 85/86 250R's. I bought the 86 with a quickness.

Thanks for the input, I finally got a hold of the person with the 350x and it was
already sold, that sucks but I'm sure I'll be able to find something else that
catches my eye. Maybe something that needs some work so I can do some
tinkering!!!
