the 2 covers on top of the head they are like 23mm
same as on my 200 m and 200s i found the easyest way to adjust them was to pull the motor out of the frame

noooooooo........ Sorry 200s Not starting anything... We have dial a valve look on the second head down by the decompression shaft. there is a cover pull it off. inside is your dials.
If you need more details lemme know.. These things are very easy to adjust....unlike the others.
Well...In my quest to find the valve adjuster, I took off the cam chain tensioner and I can't get it back, on it stops short about a 1/4".
So I wanted to ask before I break something, how do I put it back?
Thanks

umm did you pull the timing chain?? Also do you have right side of cover off. (you have just opened a can of worms...) the only way i could move mine is to remove timing chain. The only thing is to put it back the way you pulled it. (not likely mine wont move without pulling chain) On your head the is a side cover with the word honda stamped. your valve adjustment is in there. No pulling engine....no using a feeler gage.
No....I didn't remove the chain, just the assembly.
I'll try to see if I can get it back in.
Thanks

It might help to remove right case cover cause you can access bottom of where tensioner goes. Also you should be able to lift the cam a little so that you can slide it down easier. The only thing is careful not to stretch your chain. Before you do anything I would be sure to put everything at top dead center So you have a solid starting point. Very good luck!!!
You have too retracked the tensioning pin the stick out of the unit.If you don't know how let use know, if some one does not tell you i will look at a parts scamatic too se the stile it cares and tell you.
Well I don't have a service manual for this trike yet.
It looks like a screw driver fits down the shaft for adjustment:confused:
Any tips would be appreciated.
What do you mean by "top dead center"
Thanks...Rookie
Put a screw drive in the hole in the center and turn it . you well see the pin retracked. put it in place retracked the pin, spin on nuts snug reless titen nuts your good to go.

I have a worry what you think dads....for it to come out like that would his timin chain be too loose? Just a thought that came up. Mine is so tight I wouldnt be able to pull the tensioner without breakin it.
350x in order to adjust your valves your engine needs to be at top dead center with all the marks lined up in the left case, with both rockers being loose. Lemme see if i can get my scanner to work i can scan what i got. No promises the scanner hasnt worked in ages....
If he did not turn eng over there is no chanse of the time being off. just put it in first push back on trike to move crank in reaverse direction to take out any play after tensioner is in place.
That is the old way for bikes that had the manual tensioner.
It help on the new self tensioners too.
Thanks for all the input.
I'm pretty sure the chain is still on. I haven' even moved it since I removed the tensioner. Dad's I'll try putting it in gear and roll it back to tighten the chain. After I retract the tensioner and reinstall it, will I have to tighten the tensioner back up?
Jenn thanks for your help.:)
You learn something new everyday. The tensioner is spring loaded, should be no big deal.....:headbang: :headbang:
Hey Jenn Oregon plays my DAWGS next weekend....Place a bet:demon:

good luck gettin that back in....When you do get it put it all back together and ill give ya details on adjusting valves, (you ever find that) lol no actually the ducks are on their way to beat up atcnuts cougars....then we will be happy to beat you on the 16th.:D
OK....The tensioner delema is over.
I got the cover off to adjust the valves and it's not quite what I expected. So I'll either need a little guidance or a service manual.
Thanks again....:headbang:

Well I can scan but it wont convert...pictures are worth a 1000 words. Anyway, get everything put back together except putting on gas tank. (this makes life easier) leave off valve cover.
Looking at the left side of the trike you will see 3 altenator caps. They are removed by a hex. 2 of them are on the main case cover towards bottom. (dads picture?) One is up by the 2 Dials (valves). You need to remove all 3. you need a socket to go into the big hole this is how you rotate your engine to get to top-dead-center.
As you rotate engine (counterclockwise) While looking in the smaller hole you will see 3 notches 2 of them have letters.."F" and "T". You are after the letter "T". (Hint use flashlight and wife) you need to line The "T" up with the notch on the hole. now go up to the dials and look in the 3rd hole there should be an arrow in there plain as day. If not you are 180 degrees off and need to continue rotation around again until the "T" shows up again. Now once all things are up arrow and the "T" You loosen the dials for the valves. Move both the intake and adjusters counterclockwise till you feel resistance. then go back clockwise 1 graduation (one notch) Tighten down. your done.. If i have confuse you I will photocopy and mail this to you. lemme know ITs hard to understand at first because it is so different from the others. but once you do it, you wish the other bikes were set up the same..lol
P.s. this is done with engine cold..
that to lift it for parts fish.:D

350X, you are one of those!!!!! DAMN, I was getting a good opinion of you too. You got any money to put on your dogs when they go to Pullman to play my Cougs????
You know when I made the wager to Jenn, I didn't mean to say "DAWGS", I meant to say "COUGS".
I want to go on the record here and let you know that I AM A COUG, ALWAYS HAVE BEEN A COUG AND ALWAYS WILL BE A COUG.
So ATCnut, can't make that wager.
But Jenn, wanna place a bet for this weekend....Let's say trike for trike...:booty: :booty: :booty: :booty: :booty:

now a trike thats like bettin one of my children...so I cant... but I would be happy to take on a more fun bet....if you would like we can continue our bet on?? on, how bad them dawg:doh: i mean cougs are gonna lose.....:D ;), to the :hail: ducks :headbang: hehe
So, Jenn...your'e a duck fan, eh? I wonder where you guys would be without our former VOL, Onterrio Smith? He is totally kicking a$$ up there in DuckLand! Too bad our boy Phil F. (affectionately known as the "PHILsbury Dough Boy") had a prob with the big "O" and his taste for the occasional blunt or two! Maybe if we still had him in Knoxville and, therefore, still had a running game, we wouldn't have 3 losses this year. I also don't think O.S. is scared of water so he might (probably) have been a huge help against the gators this year in the monsoon in Neyland Stadium. Oh well, you guys have got him so make the most of it!! Good luck and hopefully he will be showing his stuff in the Rose Bowl! We'll get 'em next year....GO VOLS!!!

nah we are out of rose bowl run...We have 2 losses ourselves...
(weak defense) next year we have O.S. Plus most of our offense for next year watch for us then....In all honestly Cougars are strongest for the Rose bowl run..Now before you other 2 come up behind me with that just remember I am a Duck fan and therefore am Obliged to talk smack about my team:D It is in all fun...
Beside if it down pours the Cougs are toast because they will be forced to pass not throw:demon:

350X that was a major slip, but I'll let it slide this time. When were you in Pullman?
